Section 6

How We Use Your Data

6.1 Account Management

Your name, email address, and password hash are used to create and maintain your customer account. Your account allows you to view order history, track deliveries, manage your delivery address, and access your affiliate dashboard.

6.2 Order Processing & Fulfilment

When you place an order, we use your contact and address details to prepare your container, coordinate with logistics partners, arrange customs documentation where applicable, and ensure delivery to the correct address. Your order data is retained for accounting and legal compliance purposes.

6.3 Batch System Communications

If you participate in our batch pre-order system, we send you automated emails for relevant events: price tier changes and refund notifications, batch threshold confirmations, batch closure notifications, dispatch confirmations, and delivery notifications. These communications are strictly transactional and are not marketing in nature.

6.4 Customer Support

When you contact us with a question, complaint, or request, we use the information you provide and your existing account/order data to respond to and resolve your enquiry. Records of support interactions are retained for quality assurance and dispute resolution.

6.5 Affiliate Programme

If you participate in our referral programme, we use your account data to generate and track your unique referral code, attribute referred orders to your account, calculate commission earnings, and process commission payouts.

6.6 Legal & Regulatory Obligations

We are required by law to maintain records related to financial transactions, including invoices, payment records, and international shipping documentation. These records are retained for the periods required by Montenegrin law and the laws of the countries to which we export.

6.7 Security & Fraud Prevention

Technical data including IP addresses and access logs are used to detect and prevent fraudulent activity, unauthorised access attempts, and abuse of our website and services.

6.8 Service Improvement

Aggregated, anonymised usage data may be used to understand which pages and features are most used, to identify technical issues, and to improve the overall customer experience on our website.

Section 7

Who We Share Data With

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data. We share data only where necessary to deliver our services, comply with legal obligations, or protect our legitimate interests.

7.1 Logistics & Freight Partners

To arrange delivery, we share your name, delivery address, contact phone number, and order details with our logistics and freight partners. These parties receive only the data necessary to complete your delivery.

7.2 Payment Processors

Payment transactions are processed by certified third-party payment processors. We do not store your full card details. Payment processors receive the transaction amount, currency, and sufficient identifying information to process the payment and detect fraud.

7.3 Hosting Provider — Hostinger

Our website is hosted by Hostinger International Ltd. As our hosting provider, Hostinger stores all data held on our website's servers, including your account data and order records. Hostinger operates under a Data Processing Agreement with us and processes data solely on our instructions.

7.4 Web Development Partner — CMC Agency

CMC Agency (cmc-agency.me), our website development partner, may access website data in the course of technical maintenance, bug fixing, or feature development. Access is strictly limited, conducted under confidentiality obligations, and performed only as necessary.

7.5 Accountants & Legal Advisors

We may share financial records with our accountants and legal advisors in Montenegro for tax compliance, financial auditing, and legal advice. These parties are bound by professional confidentiality obligations.

7.6 Customs & Government Authorities

For international shipments, we are legally required to submit export and import documentation to the relevant customs authorities. This may include your name, address, and the contents and value of the shipment.

7.7 Law Enforcement & Regulatory Bodies

We will disclose personal data to law enforcement agencies, regulatory bodies, or courts where we are legally required to do so, or where disclosure is necessary to protect the safety or rights of our customers, staff, or the public.

We do not share your data with advertising networks, data brokers, social media platforms for advertising purposes, or any third party for their own commercial use.

Section 8

International Data Transfers

Adriatic Containers is based in Montenegro. Montenegro has been granted an adequacy decision by the European Commission, meaning that transfers of personal data from the EEA to Montenegro are considered to provide an adequate level of protection equivalent to that offered within the EU.

Hostinger stores data on servers located in the European Union (Lithuania). Data stored on Hostinger's infrastructure therefore remains within the EEA and benefits from full GDPR protection.

In the course of arranging international deliveries, certain data (primarily delivery address and contact details) will necessarily be transmitted to logistics partners and customs authorities in the destination country. Such transfers are necessary for the performance of your contract.

Where we engage any other sub-processors outside of Montenegro and the EEA, we ensure appropriate safeguards are in place, such as Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) approved by the European Commission.
